Hi guys,
Had an interesting 1/2 hour at the council depot in Kittybrewster this afternoon.
Went there armed with camera to see what state the city council vehicles are in.
The results were that out of 23 council vehicles only 2 didn't have signs of diesel spillages. One a 54 plate the other 07 plate.
I had only just taken pictures from the front of the building, but fully intend going back and getting more from the rear.
Needless to say I had only just finished taking the first couple of pictures when a couple of workers approached me to enquire about my activities. I just ignored them and carried on. I later went to see if I could go round the back, but was then approached by another of the workers, who asked if I was the guy who was upsetting his work mate.
YES it is!
This guy turned out to be a biker, a nice red 55 plate VFR, sitting in the car park.
Unfortunately he seamed to be in denial that there was a problem trying to give me different reasons and even tried to inform me that they didn't overfill their vehicles. but then contradicted himself when mentioning that it was bad, round the back, where they fill up.
He also mentioned that he had been involved with the cleaning up of spillages, to which I then asked about what they use. Still sand! he informed me. I informed him that that was just as bad if it is not swept up. Trying to defend the council again he informed that they do sweep it back up, but they like to leave it for a few days to ensure that it has soaked up most of the diesel. I.E. when the cars have brushed it aside, or another poor biker has come off on the sand in the dark.
Needless to say I'm more p**sed off now, than I was at the start of the day.
PLEASE go and take pictures of any council vehicle filler caps, trying to include the reg plates and send me the results, Mail them to the address found at the bottom of this page.
Regards, Boris. Aberdeenshire MAG
